28th December 2008

The only day in Dec that I managed to make it out to the field and the last visit for 2008 no doubt. The weather was superb with a light Northerly and I must admit to some surprise at the low turnout. Probably more visitors than regulars.

It was great to see Bernie back again for his regular Summer visit with some nice new gliders.

Gordon gave an impresive display with his "Golden Oldie" Golden Era Biplane from around 1929 with some very realistic flying.

Coupled ailrons on both wings make this a very smooth model indeed.

Jeremy had his newly completed "Extra300" at the field and it performed well on it's first flights

Colin  had a couple of his Giro's out and I was impressed with the maneuverability of the larger one which has std rudder/elevator as well as rotor tilt which has similar affect as ailerons.

Colin and Donald at a rather empty field today.

Long time competitors, UK member Bernie watches as Eric puts his "Genesis 3000" together.

Bernie is holding one of his own designs, a DLG which is incredibly light at around 4oz sans ballast.

And here is your very own "How to" instruction sheet for DLG!

Bernie with his all foam electric Multiplex "Cularis" and Eric's Genesis below and the competition was on between the two.

Last up for the year - the only Free Flighter to come out, Ian Henry with visitor Jack giving advice while Ian powers up his "Safari Racer".

That's it for 2008.  Here's hoping 2009 will give us better flying weather and plenty of new and interesting models and photographs for our Gallery.

I'm am not giving away any secrets about what is on my building board so you will just have to keep checking back to find out.
